      Very Siloed but also flexible

      Pros

      Flexible, slow pace (which can be both good and bad) , mostly nice staff, situated in Wolfville, students are great

      Cons

      Siloed, underpaid, undervalued, staff are treated as lesser than faculty, lack of direction, sink or swim, growth opportunities are unclear, significant discrepancies between pay of people with similar titles, expected to do multiple different jobs

      Pros

      The student staff are wonderful to work with, and you really do feel like you make an impact on the students.

      Cons

      Never have I experienced such a lack of support in a student services role. Management is non-existent and does not care about the wellbeing of the staff. Staff are over-worked, and are not given the resources or support they need to make the changes that upper management is asking. Concerns are not heard or listened to. Benefits are essentially non-existent and you are not properly informed about them to begin with. After dealing with crisis' management does very little to check in. Very little opportunity for professional development, which is incredibly disappointing as student services in a growing area.
