Pros

. Complexity in the product presents developers a chance to solve some interesting problems at times . Good perks with Friday lunches, Fully stocked kitchen, Friday night drinks, Yoga sessions and Team outings . Dog-friendly Office . Fun loving people and workplace

Cons

. No career growth. You could work for a fair amount of time not having clarity on where you stand . Don't have many experienced people to learn from, no mentors! Most of the experienced people have left in the recent turnover, with only a handful left . Too much tech debt and the management doesn't allocate enough time and resources to address this. . Compensation is below par

Thanks for taking the time to submit a review. We heartily agree with all the pros you’ve listed, thank you. Our team is awesome and our office culture is incredibly friendly and fun. As for your more constructive criticism, thank you for sharing your point of view. We have definitely lost a few experienced developers lately, which has been a real blow. We scaled hard in 2018, and in hindsight, we added people very rapidly which put pressure on our existing team. We are now working hard to stabilise by restructuring our team and clarifying our developer roles and career path opportunities. By both hiring new leaders and promoting within, our new team structure ensures that every developer is now in a dedicated team with a team lead to mentor them. We have mapped our developer career paths and will continue to work on those with team leads so people can achieve meaningful career goals here at Accelo. We will continue to watch market trends to be on top of competitive compensation offerings and our new quarterly bonus structure comes into place in Q4. We hope these initiatives show that we care about the continuous improvement of our teams experience here at Accelo. Feel free to get back in touch directly with People Ops if you have any other comments. We value your feedback.

Pros

Prior to acquisition by a PE firm obsessed with nothing but turning a fast profit, the team and culture at Accelo was incredibly supportive and obsessed with customer satisfaction and service. Geoff McQueen was an incredible leader but sadly departed as part of the acquisition.

Cons

Since the acquisition of Accelo by Bow River, countless people in the US and Australia have been told they are no longer required despite years of dedicated service.
