Pros

In this position you work Monday through Thursday with Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off. You're also off on all the major holidays. You'll get back in shape/lose weight. Some overtime as well.

Cons

The business is family owned and there is a lot of internal politics; meaning many people should have been let go a long time ago, but are still there. They are stuck in the mindset of; this is how it's always been done or this is how it's going to be kind of attitudes. Or, you'll hear a story of how it used to be, which ironically, won't really sound that much worse than how it is now. With that of course, the culture is horrible; it's an every man for themselves environment. Changes will happen without any regard or input from you...They will add stops on your route and make changes to your day sometimes without any notice or assistance, you'll be told you just have to figure it out when that happens. The job can simply be too much for some, so the weight you'll lose may not always be voluntary because you won't have time to eat. If you do have time, don't worry, they'll correct that for you. The routes are set up on dollar volume which doesn't make a lot of sense. Clothes take more time than linen and mats, but no one seems to get that. Some guys will start later than you and get back earlier than you and you'll still crisscross with other drivers on your route. You'll just wonder why... Every change that happens there seems as though 99% of it is on the drivers. They preach professionalism, but it will feel more like a middle school / high school kind of environment by how it all operates and conversations you'll hear or be part of. No one ever seems happy or satisfied; if you're back too soon they'll find stuff for you to do, which means you may get to make more deliveries, or you get back too late and then they want to know what the problem is. Refer to the earlier paragraph, when they changed your day and it was up to you...then they wonder why it took so long...? You may get more overtime than you want depending on your day, and if it's too much, you'll here about it. This should be a straight ten hour job and go home, but after you're there 12-14 hours, everything you read here will all come together and make sense. This list could be as long as the amount of laundry you'll deliver and pick up, but this covers the bulk of what to expect.

Pros

Pay is decent, Laid back company, and only work Mon-Thur guaranteed 40 hours.

Cons

No way to advance as only the managers "friends" get promoted, Everyone is always looking for the scapegoat, Management is a complete joke, and owners only see money signs, nothing else.
