Great employees, poor leadership

Pros

Intelligent coworkers, ample company bonding time to know your coworkers, the main product (acretrader) is a great product that fits the market, you have the autonomy to make decisions and build processes, if you are willing to put in the work you will learn a lot in a short amount of time, the acretrader platform business unit has great leadership and direction

Cons

Leadership lost sight of the main product (acretrader) and spent too much time trying to build other products too fast. Leadership was never on the same page, always contradicting each other in meetings. There was a "growth at all cost" mentality that in return resulted in laying off employees due to poor forecasting and planning. The CEO is brilliant and the heart of the business but has left too much of the key business decisions to the rest of the leadership team that has no legitimate experience in executive decision making and organization building There has been too much time spent on building "culture" and creating an extensive and inefficient hiring process and not enough time spent on everything else

Pros

AcreTrader will give you a lot of room for growth and you will learn a lot. You will always be wearing a 'different hat' than what you were originally hired for which helps expand your resume.

Cons

AcreTrader is a mess. There are no clear goals at this company as they change every other week which makes it very hard to make any money. You will be overworked, underpaid, and unappreciated. If you voice your concerns to HR or Leadership nothing will be done. Every employee there is experiencing burnout. The company values 'radical transparency' but it couldn't be further from that. The culture has taken a big hit since the first round of layoffs in January and will not recover unless there are MAJOR changes in leadership.

It’s okay

Pros

The compensation isn’t better than the large corporations in northwest Arkansas. The work is constantly changing so don’t be shocked if you build 5 cool things that get scrapped for the next idea, but the plus side of this is you can learn a lot.

Cons

The company is somewhat unstable having a layoff of a large percentage of its employees. The attempt to grow too fast could be the reason for this. Radical transparency is a core company value yet just a month before the layoff everyone was told no layoffs were going to happen so what is said one month ago might not actually happen. next month.
