Pros

- training and tools available to develop skills in AI - good compensation and benefits - intelligent coworkers - challenging techstack

Cons

- in Costa Rica there is no engineering leadership, so we are under HR leadership which doesn't fully advocate for our organization. requirements to go to the office often change in a micromanagement way.

Thanks for sharing this after a couple of years in Costa Rica! AI training and tools, compensation and benefits, intelligent coworkers, and the challenging tech stack are real strengths, and we're glad those are working well for you! On the Engineering leadership structure in Costa Rica, we're building out dedicated Engineering leadership across all hubs to ensure technical teams have the advocacy and support they need. That work is happening now to strengthen how Engineering operates regionally. The office requirements changing frequently is fair feedback. Consistency matters, and we're working to ensure any in-office expectations are clear and stable rather than shifting arbitrarily. For prospective employees in Costa Rica: Ask about how technical decisions get made and what office expectations look like. You should get specific answers! We appreciate you being here and the technical work you're doing!

Pros

Coworkers are kind. Remote work is nice.

Cons

Got a small annual raise despite being touted as a higher performer. Tired of living out this corporate dystopia where a company that does > $250m in revenue gives merit increases that can't even keep up with the rising cost of just living.

Thanks for sharing this after more than five years here! Our talented employees and remote work are real strengths at AC, and we're glad those have been consistent for you. On the compensation piece, we review annually and benchmark against market data to ensure we're competitive. Also, compensation conversations continue past annual review cycles since we aim for high performers to feel valued and consistently growing. For prospective employees, we invite you to ask about how compensation is determined, what market benchmarking looks like, and how merit increases work. You should get specific answers about the process and what drives those decisions. If you have additional feedback, please share with your manager or HRBP. Thanks again!
