Pros
It's a basic job that barely meets minimum wage.
Cons
Where do I start. Terrible middle management and regional managers who do nothing to help branch managers. Branch managers are dismissive and care about nothing apart from the staff/wage ratio, leading to unsafe working conditions, where only 1 member of staff can be on the floor servering as many customers as the building can take. This is very dangerous, especially if the place was to get robbed/attacked. Wages are low, pennies above minimum wage, even for experienced, long suffering staff. They FORCE female members of staff to wear a skirt/dress, in this day and age, that is unacceptable. They force all staff to fill in surveys, quizes and watch awful videos IN THEIR SPARE TIME! Rather than paying for training, or having time during work hours to watch this corporate drivel. Branch managers are so unorganised that they constantly cut your hours and move hours around, so you can't plan your life more than a week ahead. Holidays are forced on to you. During Corona, they forced people to take holiday who were furloughed. They removed the microwave from our branch, so we can't bring in food to heat up on our break. Lunch breaks were shortened to 10 minutes, really, 10 minutes! That's not a lunch, it's an eating contest. They don't employ cleaners! Gaming staff are supposed to clean not only the machines, but also the toilets. When elderly and infirm customers crap all over the place, it's front of house staff who have to clean it! Upper management are squeezing staff members to breaking point, and beyond. And for what? To save a few pennies? Please admiral top brass, look at this honest review, look at how you're treating staff and fix these things.
