Administration consistently makes poor decisions. Despite their mission, they fail to extend the same care, compassion & "healing ministry" to their own employees. The 'Good old Boy' network in a growing but still small town continues to allow bad behavior, particularly the misuse of resources and abuse of employees by certain physicians. Instead of correcting the bad behaviors and business practices of a handful of physicians, managers & directors, Administration chooses to put the onus on the backs of their nursing staff, techs and aides. There is a complete lack of communication from the top down. There is almost no attempt to educate and elevate staff. If you enjoy being micromanaged, this place excels in this management style. Instead of inspiring staff to do their best, they keep cutting benefits, hours, pay and now even the safety of staff & patients; while visibly putting resources into furniture, "huddle" boards, and catered meetings for upper management/physicians. Pharmacy has been allowed to become the final arbiter of what meds can be administered to patients without speaking to the ordering physician(s) - one of the craziest practices we have ever seen. Hospital-wide morale is at an all-time low. A lot of lip service is given to improving practices, following standards of care, appreciation of coworkers, etc. but the reality is that the staff do not feel appreciated, heard, or valued. In fact, it is safe to say that over the past six-months or so, staff look scared, troubled, unhappy and expressly feel dehumanized.
