Pros

The familial atmosphere. This is a small hospital (Wesley Chapel) where upper management is very visible and accessible. In my 2 years here this hospital has won #1 Workplace 2 times!

Cons

Payroll ends Sat at midnight. So if you work that particular Sat you don't get paid for the hours between 12a-7a. Those hours go on your next check. And, no- no overtime is accrued. This may not be true in the non- 7th Day Adventist hospitals.

Pros

Newer hospital, nice inside, good location.

Cons

This hospital has the most political nonsense that I've ever seen. They preach about Christ, but they are the most un-Christlike hospital I've ever worked at. Management is horrible! It isn't about having experience there, it is who can kiss the CNO's (Mary Brady) butt the best, which is what the managers do. Managers go out drinking with the staff alot. Pretty classy to see them get wasted. Lots and lots of favoritism. They don't back up their own staff worth anything. High turnover rate. In the 3 years it's been open, maybe 5% are still there. They do nothing to retain the experienced staff. When the CNO was asked what was being done to retain staff, her answer was "Nothing. There's always another applicant." Lead nurses are back stabbing and conniving. If they don't like you, they will do whatever they can to get you fired. They force you into answering their annual employee satisfaction surveys with 5 star review because if you don't, it affects your yearly raise. How this place was voted the #1 workplace in Tampa Bay is a mystery because they certainly didn't ask the actual employees!!

At Adventist Health System, we take the performance of managers and the satisfaction of employees very seriously. One of the ways that we identify opportunities for improvement is through the annual Employee Engagement Survey. Your feedback on this tool is directly tied to each manager’s performance review. If a leader’s department score suffers, they are provided with additional training and are often paired with a high-performing manager who can provide mentorship on ways to improve communication and create a better work environment. In addition to leaving a review here on Glassdoor, we hope that you have taken advantage of the opportunity to share your candid feedback via the Employee Engagement Survey.
