Pros

- Team Events - Nintendo Switch - Beers on Friday

Cons

- Staffing Company: Most people don't work onsite - Well below market pay - Company is cheap, will skimp out on vacation, expenses, and salary. Most developers are using laptops from over 4 years ago. - Extremely high turnover (Around 6 months) - Entire leadership team left last summer - Have not been able to hire CTO in the past 10 months (they don't want to work here). Engineers are left hung out to dry, have no boss, no raises, poor work conditions. - Unable to secure projects, most employees have nothing to do (layoffs coming soon) - Would not trust previous reviews, are astroturfed.

I am sorry to hear you are having these experiences at Aequilibrium. Every fast growing company has some challenges and we don’t get everything right the first time. I've recently joined Aequilibrium and the feedback I've received so far is not consistent with your experience. So I'd really like to better understand your perspective and how to address your concerns. Please feel free to reach out to me, or any member of the leadership team, directly. Cheers, Amber

Pros

They pay on time and have beers from time to time.

Cons

There used to be a ton of negative reviews on Aequilibrium, but somehow they all magically disappeared and are replaced by all of these "positive" reviews. Do not trust these positive reviews, as they are fabricated by the marketing/PR team at the behest of the CEO.

Howdy! Gagan here—Recruiting and Culture Coordinator. Thanks for taking out the time to express your views about Aequilibrium. We take these reviews as critical feedback and ensure we take the necessary measures to become a better organization. I just wanted to clarify some of the concerns listed in this review. First, Glassdoor is a credible job board source. Employers do not have the authority to delete any of the employee or candidate reviews. In terms of the comment regarding our Marketing and PR team, we actually don’t have a PR team. Our Marketing team consists of one person whose efforts are focused on growth hacking and client account management. Our CEO or any other teammate at Aequilibrium has never pressured anyone to write a Glassdoor review, and in fact, since these reviews are anonymous, we don’t even know who has been saying the wonderful things about Aequilibrium! If you have any other questions about Aequilibrium, or other ways we can improve as a company, I would love to jump on a quick call with you or take you to Milano for a hedgehog mocha (they’re amazing!). Cheers, Gagan

Pros

There was nothing good about this place.

Cons

- I was catfished into the job. During my interview process the interviewers were raving about all the exciting clients they were working with like Nintendo and Lululemon. However once I was hired and started the only clients they had were small credit unions who were using 1980's technology. - Terrible CFO (aka the CEO's wife). During my first week, I was called into her office and lectured me because I did not log 40hrs of billable work and had the audacity to ask me if I'm going to make it up during the weekend. There was no onboarding and my manager was not even there during my first week. How can you expect a new hire to be producing work without any guidance? - All the designers left within 3 months of starting the job - Terrible leadership CEO hired a Design Director without consulting anybody include the Chief Product Officer - The entire business shifted to VR/AR because CTO was a big VR/AR enthusiast. The funny thing is that they till this day they never landed a VR project.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We're genuinely sorry to hear about your negative experience during your time with us. It's certainly concerning to learn that your expectations weren't met and that you felt misled during the interview process. We deeply regret any miscommunication regarding the clients we work with. While we do engage with a variety of clients, including smaller credit unions and gaming organizations, there has been a variety of clients we've successfully completed projects with in the past in which some have returned, while some are fully satisfied with the long term solution we provided to them and no longer require our support. We acknowledge the importance of transparency in these matters and will strive to ensure that future candidates have a clear understanding of the scope of our projects and the stages of the projects. Regarding your concerns about leadership and onboarding, we take these matters very seriously. It's essential for our new hires to feel supported and guided as they transition into their roles. We apologize for any lapses in our onboarding process and as a new hire several tools are utilized during the employee journey, and will work on improving the communication around the benefits such tools to the employee journey. Your comments about turnover and leadership decisions are heard. We recognize the impact that these issues can have on team morale and productivity. We are committed to fostering a positive work environment where all team members feel valued and heard. Your feedback will be taken into consideration as we work towards improving our leadership practices and team dynamics. During this time, we've implemented approval processes for opening new roles which is an inclusive process. As for the focus on VR/AR projects, we understand your frustration with the direction of our business. While we value innovation and exploration in emerging technologies, we acknowledge the importance of balancing these initiatives with tangible client projects. We are proud of the hard work, patience, and dedication of our people, and have successfully delivered a VR project to a valuable credit union client who is a huge advocate of our work for the impact it's made on the learning and growth of their members. We will reevaluate our priorities to ensure that our efforts are aligned with the needs of our clients and the expertise of our team. Once again, we appreciate your candid feedback and regret any disappointment you may have experienced. Your insights are invaluable to us as we strive to create a better workplace for all employees. If you have any further concerns or would like to discuss your experience in more detail, please don't hesitate to reach out to us directly. Sincerely, Tammy, HR Director
