Management has no clue how to run a machine shop. Bad decisions on how to run the company. When they run low on money they fire people and it makes no difference if you are a engineer or machinist, highly skilled or experienced makes no difference. Plenty of responsibilities and pay doesn't come even close to what other shops are paying.
The group of people here are a great group. it's a small business, so you can talk more freely and have the chance to voice your opinion. It's a lot of pressure, but a great place to feel challenged and to see really cool stuff.
Cons
With every small business, they can struggle at times to keep up with the growth. It's fun to be a part of new processes though, so it's only frustrating for a little bit. Variety is huge, so if you want to do repetitive things each day, this isn't your place. I like to see the latest in R&D so I enjoyed it.
