Pros

Free car parking, free tea and coffee, free pizza once a year

Cons

Poorly run by the MD and his engineering director. They cast aside loyal long servers to promote newcomers who are the next big thing. These newcomers quickly get crushed by the toxic conditions they are expected to work in and go elsewhere, and often the guy who was cas aside has left by then, creating a lack of skills or experience and more work for those who are left. We have seen it time and time again, and it is even happening now. Blokes running the workshops for decades being shoved aside to make room for the next round of wannabes and yes men, who are also cheaper to pay. One of these is a guy we have worked with on the machine shop, who was pretty crap at his job and lazy. Theyre giving him manager job in the other workshop proving that loyalty doesn't pay, being in favour with thedirector of engineering does. He is young and cheap so they jumpat the chance. Everyone here is sick of it as none of us had a chance to go for the job, it is all done by stealth. Loads of us are looking for jobs as we just hace had enough over the years. They contradict there own values then wonder why everyone either hates it there or leaves. The director of engineering has manipulated other directors over years to get them out and have less threat to his own job.he hides everything from the MD and half of time gets away with it. He has little ability but is carried along by a few skilled guys who make him look half capable, any who speak out get shoved out by him so they can't expose him. If you work here for god's sake just get trained and go before you get too expensive and they shove you aside

Pros

-Attractive, modern building with well‑maintained outdoor seating areas. -A generally sociable atmosphere among colleagues, despite the constraints placed on social interaction by management.

Cons

-Heavy micromanagement, with middle management frequently monitoring day‑to‑day tasks, which can create an atmosphere of distrust. -Workplace culture can feel exclusionary, and management may come across as overly harsh or unsupportive if you don’t fit into established circles. -Lack of modern working practices—very limited flexibility around remote working or flexible hours despite industry-wide shifts. -Bonuses and incentives are minimal, offering little recognition for hard work or strong performance. -Overall, the environment can feel demotivating and unenjoyable, making it difficult to feel engaged or positive about coming to work.

Worst inept managers

Pros

Nothing only if your part of the click

Cons

Nepotism is the dna of this company. Experts in their field with years of experience who have given so much to the company side stepped. Senior Positions given to new graduates because of their relationships or family connections to the directors. Worst set of the most inept ignorant clueless people around. Most of the knowledge and experience has left through early retirement or moved jobs because they can't stand these terrible clueless careless 'managers ' you tell you that one thing then do another.
