Pros

-Good pay. -For the most part you work alone. -Comfortable uniform. -Breaks not micromanaged. -Work/life balance. When you’re off the clock you’re off.

Cons

Sneaky, shady, disrespectful, and non-communicative. I was on a team of product specialists for a nicotine product. Communication and transparency were a struggle from day one. I stuck it out because the pay was what I needed and I did enjoy the job itself and what I could contribute to the team, and I always went the extra mile. Fast forward - on Dec 1, the company sent out a newsletter, nonchalantly mentioning that they were completely closing the program down for the last 2 weeks of the year (from Dec 21-Jan 4) and, as hourly employees, this meant that we were given 3 weeks notice that we would completely lose 2 weeks’ worth of income. As the company was preparing for the break, the shadiness continued when management said they needed to collect all of our supplies to check everything over and make sure things were in good working order. It seemed really weird to all of us but we were assured REPEATEDLY that the program wasn’t closing down permanently, and that we would be re-issued everything and business would resume in the new year. We even had health benefits due to begin Jan 1. Our team of 25-ish people were kept in limbo for an additional 10 days when, on Dec 30, we all received an email that we were terminated. We could’ve had a 10-day head start on applying for unemployment benefits and seeking new employment. Hell, we could’ve had a MONTH head start on it, because they absolutely knew what they were doing and opted to go out of their way to screw us. If you are thinking about working for this company, I am so glad you found my review so you can run away. I understand layoffs happen but intentionally stalling and lying so that people can’t plan financially is just diabolical. Severance pay would have been a nice gesture.
