Pros

I heard that Aha! was looking for Rails developers and it caught my attention. At that time I was ready for a new challenge, and I liked how they had a proven track record of scaling software companies in the past. I could see that Aha! was changing the very way that companies innovate. And there was no way that I could pass up an opportunity to get involved with that! My decision has paid off -- this team motivates me to be my best as we deliver new features to our customers every single week. Working for Aha! also met another important criteria: I always want to work on projects that I can be proud of, and to keep on advancing my knowledge. We have access to all the latest technologies like Ruby on Rails, ReactiveUI, D3 and React, and we have an excellent team that is doing some really great work. If you are passionate about writing great code, give Aha! a closer look. You won't find another company quite like it.

Cons

Nothing that comes to mind.

Pros

- Product is fulfilling a true market need - Stable company with a well planned future - On site is nicely done. The team puts a lot of work into creating a full experience with great accommodations - Good people. Apart from leadership, there are many great people here who are willing to help and genuinely care for each other

Cons

-Yes, you work remote but don’t expect to have a life of your own. The company has put a lot of effort into keeping people connected but remote work here means working over time (12 hour days minimum). They also watch the clock... remote does not mean flexible. -Anxiety driven. The team is small and mighty but productivity is driven through fear. Expect to get messages that require you to jump online in the middle of the night because of minuscule problems. (No room for error. Everything is a big deal) -False advertising. Many of the reviews written here are not actually employee sentiment. Employees are “asked” to write positive reviews on Glassdoor and on Amazon (for the CEOs book). People are afraid to write negative reviews because it’s a small team and they are afraid of being found out. Same with the viral blog posts... practice what you preach. -Keep your opinions to yourself. I saw another negative reviewer that was encouraged to have opened up about their concerns. Don’t be fooled... this is not the culture that is welcomed here. The CEO will make you feel stupid for bringing opposing opinions. Leave your experience behind, you won’t be allowed to use it here.

Aha! Response

I am glad that you appreciate the vision for the company, product, your colleagues, and the onsites. It makes me sad though that you disapprove of me and the leadership team in general. I definitely would not want to work with the type of team that you describe. There is no doubt that we work hard and have high expectations for what we create. I am not sure how you can build anything great without taking that approach. We value continuous improvement and that is why I have met with every person who has ever requested to share their feedback with me. And well-considered contrarian viewpoints are always welcome when they are clear and focused on ideas. Aha! was founded on taking a contrarian approach in fact — to building a high-growth technology company. Your post highlights that anyone can share their thoughts about me or the company. While we do occasionally ask people to share their views about Aha! it is completely optional and there is no review process.

Pros

remote. that. is. it. nothing. else.

Cons

CEO is horrible person, not only from a management perspective but how he treats people. very inhuman. be prepared to ALWAYS be available. when you interview with him, and you will at some point, ask yourself, "can i work with this guy? he's comes off very odd and callous." trust your instincts. because he touches everything and will be down your throat, all the time.
