Pros

The office was clean and relatively organized. The hiring process seemed professional at first.

Cons

The actual job conditions were significantly different from what was stated in the offer letter. No explanation was given about paid breaks or time expectations. When I asked for help, I was ignored; when I acted independently, I was blamed. Internal communication mostly happened in Japanese, excluding non-Japanese staff. The company has a clear hierarchy where only Japanese expat staff hold real authority. Even American employees seemed afraid to speak up, likely fearing retaliation. I got the impression that some coworkers stayed silent because they didn’t want to lose their jobs—even if that meant letting me take the fall. The culture reflects a top-down, outdated Japanese corporate mindset with little regard for fair treatment or transparency.
