Pros

- reliable - slow-paced - big offices - free parking - lots of space in employee fridge There are definitely some really nice people there, but there is very little opportunity to collaborate with coworkers or to get to know one another.

Cons

- If your a woman, your gender will be an endless source of fascination. It's like working in a company in the early 70's. Of over 100 employees, fewer than 20 were woman. Including myself there were 4-5 women who were not on the secretary/admin assistant staff. I got lots of comments during meetings and everything in between about being a girl. They are really not used to seeing women in any position of power whatsoever. During my first meeting with the upper staff (all men) the CEO asked me to introduce myself and then said "not too bad for a woman" in a weird tone. Very awkward. - Sub-note: on Christmas I got an email titled "to all the girls" asking all of the women in the company to write down 3 perfume options as a gift from the CEO. Odd, but okay. I got a 1-oz bottle of the least expensive option I chose. Again, odd but free perfume is free perfume. I asked my manager whether there was a gift for the men and he told me that all the men go to a big party together on New Years Day and get free food and drinks. I can't remember if this party was at an Elk Club or at the Golf Club that Mr. Alaimo also owns, but either way bad vibes. - Very low diversity. - Very low flexibility. The CEO wants everyone there from 8 to 5 with a 1 hour lunch break. Want to skip the break? Better write a convincing appeal to have Mr. Alaimo give you a permission slip. Everything is very set in stone. - Very little room for growth. Tech utilization is nonexistent. Everything is on printed maps, and if you're doing write-ups that a manager has to edit they will print it out and do it with pen. - No set common room or lunch space, so there are very few natural opportunities to get to know your coworkers. I spent most days in complete silence. There is no reason I couldn't have done 90% of my job from home. - I overused my PTO (that's on me). After my last day they subtracted the overused time from my final check without any explanation or talking to me at all about this decision. Was I in the wrong too? Absolutely. But the fact that they were so rude and underhanded demonstrates the attitude that the company has toward its staff.

Pros

I have had many opportunities to learn from each of my supervisors. I love that I have the challenges. I like to keep busy and that I am. I always have people to help when I get stuck and never a dumb question.

Cons

would like a little more time off
