Pros

Staff lunches. Interesting projects.

Cons

Oppressive and anachronistic working atmosphere. Practice has more in common with a monastery than a consultancy. Everyone is expected to Know Their Place. The owner can be arrogant and belligerent at times - long time staff tend to fear him, he does not tolerate professional opinions that diverge from his own regardless of their merit or credibility. Owner has been ruthless when it comes to hiring and firing decisions but expects fealty none the less. Email policy requires all emails to be vetted by a floor secretary before they are released, even from senior staff. The sending of hyperlinks in internal emails is banned making information sharing very inconvenient.

Pros

Free Lunches and Friday Chocolates

Cons

Old fashioned ways of working and do not want to make investment in latest technologies; Heavily reliant on paper and manual circulation of emails in this era; Incompetent admin staff / No HR department (run strangely by secretaries); They do not respect their staff and one doesn't have any say; Believe in strong hierarchy where the current Directors are direction-less and not supportive.

Pros

- High profile projects, good working atmosphere, friendly staff. Lunch provided in canteen on Mon, Wed & Fri.

Cons

Often discouraged from trying to be too 'technical'. Quite an old fashioned firm, as evidenced by the continued use of drawing boards.
