The job pays well and the benefits are good, but is severely mismanaged from the top down. There is a shortage of manpower which compromises personal safety. Caseloads on individual Troopers are way too high, and management expectations can be unrealistic given the staffing issues. There are great managers/supervisors in the agency, but the bad ones seem to outweigh the good ones. Most coworkers are great though. Depending on the location in the state, work/life balance can feel non-existent and is a real challenge.
