Pros
Great environment with great people. Low stress overall, with many people only having to push hard for sudden dead lines. Most planning is done well. Good for training and skill set practice. An amazingly diverse culture, 50% women in IT and a lot of ethnic diversity.
Cons
Mandatory on call for the IT staff. Many projects get started and scrapped with the rapid upper management changes. A lot of the job relies on the whims of people who have never worked in IT. So even managers who know what they are doing are often forced into bad decisions. Way too many contractors. Low state pay and the benefits get worse every few years
