I worked at Alberta Blue Cross full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good training opportunities. They are working hard to come up with ways to encourage work life balance. Great teamwork. Always working towards improving efficiencies

    Cons

Salary disparity for leadership roles. Often team managers make a lot less than the people they lead.

I have been working at Alberta Blue Cross full-time

    Pros

The perks/benefits, pay, people, and hours are really good! Overall job is good, workloads are not.

    Cons

Poor management, typical corporate processes that result in inefficiencies, lack of acknowledgement and proper problem solving for heavy workloads and project timelines, designers treated as second-rate citizens.

I worked at Alberta Blue Cross full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    M-F no weekends (not yet...)

    Cons

The Team managers and Leads are very back stabbing and well as rats that work there; very very superficial; the sales and retention division have fired or let people go; grading calls are atrocious and absurd; the HR dept only sides with managers and make you sign contracts and letter and use it against you when you can not able to meet goals, which forces you out. Pay is not within industry..always below and cheap pay.... bonuses give out gift cards (tacky)

I worked at Alberta Blue Cross full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Time off was decent, buildings were nice, location was decent

    Cons

Pay was shamefully below market average! When I left I asked for a raise that was 10k above my current ABC salary and my new employer laughed and asked why so little. Managers think they're God, and you must advert your eyes when they come your way. Senior managers, you best bow your head and take a different elevator. Their management method is simple, if it's not working just hire 10 more managers and they'll make it work. Tools were very antiquated and respect for employees was quite low compared to the image they sell.

I have been working at Alberta Blue Cross full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

They are working on maintaining work-life balance.

    Cons

Many silos, with departments duplicating or complicating processes and work. Makes things very inefficient and slow. Highly political internally and quite a few personalities who are toxic at the senior management level.
