Pros

There were none. This was one of the worst experiences I’ve had with a company.

Cons

This is a small organization and it’s still learning at the cost of employees. There was a data breach exposing employees personal information at the hand of management. Unfortunately this is common but employees were met with a cavalier responses from management about to handle the situation moving forward. This company completely bent for the client at every moment and did not advocate for the employees. This company laid off multiple employees at once with minimal notice and lied about putting employees on other contracts. They also hired multiple employees and then laid them off less than a month after hiring them with no backup plans. But told employees they had plans to put them on other contracts. The lies were never ending and the mistreatment of employees was consistently disguised as being helpful. The lies to employees were unnecessary instead of communicating authentically a lie was told every time. Basic HR duties weren’t followed correctly. Pay transparency and overall compensation was skimmed over and important details were discussed when an issue arose. I highly do not recommend working here. There is no investment in things to make the business run smoother for employees. The company purchases all the free item's for business making it difficult to communicate and process certain payroll items. The list goes on about infractions. Upper level management was never worried about staff or offered to take a pay cut in order to keep staff on longer while figuring things out. The company treats employees like numbers and not people. No room for growth within the organization.

Pros

They sell the position very well during well during interviews.

Cons

On top of being expected to work unpaid overtime. It’s never a good look when a company lays off its employees via a group call, offering zero severance—especially after being told that Aleto would help place us in roles through their "many awards." When asked what we should do next, we were simply told to file for unemployment and check Aleto's LinkedIn for future postings. Meanwhile, corporate employees refused to take lower salaries to help keep on-site staff in their jobs longer. This is not a company worth working for. Also, payroll is run in arrears meaning all new employees have to wait almost a month for their first paycheck. That's not disclosed during the interview.

We truly appreciate your decision to work for Aleto, and regret falling short of your expectations. Unfortunately, the unpredictable nature of government contracting, made even more challenging by the current situation, resulted in a major contract being unexpectedly reduced. This was a surprise to us, and we immediately shared the news with the team. We work hard to find alternative assignments within Aleto, but these opportunities rely on the availability of current projects. Our reference to unemployment benefits as a resource was never intended to come across as the solution to the difficult reality for stable employment. We sincerely apologize that the communication came across otherwise. We strive for complete transparency regarding Aleto’s salary and payment processes, including the standard payment in arrears detailed in the offer letter paperwork that all new hires are required to review and sign. We appreciate your perspective and will highlight the arrears details during the initial interview as well. We value your feedback and wish you all the best. -Aleto’s HR Team
