As an organization that provides support and advocacy to women, men, youth and families who have experienced domestic, sexual, and relationship violence we continue to not only grow in the space of support and advocacy for our program participants, but also within the organization. Since the murder of George Floyd, we, as an organization has been peeling layers and history of systems that are currently in place and working not only on the organization as a whole, but individually on the leadership team. This is a not a “quick fix”, and we are aware of the work it is going to take to actively and intentionally address barriers and concerns. We know we don’t have the answers and have partnered with the YMCA Equity Innovation Center to intentionally build and address what it takes to build an inclusive workplace and put these into action.
