Pros
Kind and generous leadership - always willing to give time to their people Flat organisation - everyone has a voice. Prove yourself, share data and speak up. International teams. VC promotes growth of staff and opportunities to work within different offices. For example, the Sydney office is ~85% expat. The opportunity is what you make of it. If you're ambitious and want to succeed, be resourceful, roll up your sleeves, think creatively and you'll get the results. The business will support you.
Cons
VC is full of great visionaries and strategists who clearly understand 'where we want to go,' however, we're short on people who can translate the vision to execution - the 'how are we going to get there'? The key is having great managers and team leads at every level, that understand how to set goals, coach and support growth across team members. VC would benefit by investing more into hands-on training of their managers -- the people driving outcomes for the organisation. If you have this skill set, across any department, you will be hugely invaluable to VC (and I'm sure to any organisation).
