Plenty of opportunity if you're willing to get vastly underpaid.
Cons
Skeleton staffs (expect to do additional tasks that isn't in your job description)
Only office job I've had that still makes you manually clock in and out.
Terrible Benefits.
Upper management doesn't care for their employees or the public they serve, as seen as their willingness to cut entire weather departments
Sure, you get to be a local journalist, but how long will it last?
Cons
There is no 401k match. Benefits are expensive. There is still a ban on extra travel, so news coverage is limited. Salaries for any new employees will be on the low end of the salary range and there is no room for negotiations. Equipment is dated and cheap with no plans for improvement.
Other broadcast companies have group-wide graphics or social plans. Allen doesn't. It is a sloppy, confused media company trying to run local news opperations.
