Pros

There are not many pros to working at Allendale. Almost unlimited overtime, and affordable health insurance are the only things that I would say.

Cons

Terribly stressful. There is inconsistent management. You can also get badly hurt. One staff on my unit dislocated her elbow. Another was stabbed with a crochet hook.

Overall enjoyed working with the clients teaching them life skills and bringing them off campus into the community

Cons

A lot of restraints depending on the clients, low staffing, unsafe environment, staff injuries due to incompetence Program overall does not seem productive to the clients Not enough clinical discussions, seek out yourself to find client charts and diagnosis in a separate building than working in Expect staff to do overtime due to shortages

Not a lot of good to say about this place. Management does not lead or guide employees, no clear cut expectations are given but you will be in major trouble if you do something wrong. Not worth the risk of your reputation or mental health because it's a very negative environment to be in. Promotions go to the laziest, rude, unfitting individuals that lie and cover up for administration and execs. From the top down this place is filled with liars and abusive people. Very few good people there for the right reasons.
