Pros

Ton of beneficial technical experience opportunities, challenging work environment, most employees are friendly and good people, not a bad place to get a little experience and move on, you can move up within if you leverage yourself properly or become good friends with the right staff, offer partly remote work and if you pull the right strings you can work fully remote.

Cons

Poor management communication, high expectations for employees yet non competitive pay, overworked often, most current employees had to threaten to leave to get paid properly, high employee turnover, questionable staffing decisions, don't value employees yet claim they love them, poor documentation causing you to go in blind eyed consistently, as you work there longer the little issues management causes get old.

Pros

Free pizza on Fridays. Free parking. Very small company.

Cons

No match on the 401k One week of vacation in the first year - no defined sick time. Health benefits are below average - $50 copay Extreme gender gap in wages - an experienced female helpdesk tech makes $33k while less experienced male techs make 45-50k The company looks for techs willing to start out at 21k and demands high level MSP work with extremely minimal training. Very top heavy in terms of management - 5 Directors and a President in a company of 15 people? Extremely hostile workplace - ideas are shot down with vitriol. Management calls techs "scumbags" and other things behind their backs.

Thank you for your detailed feedback on your concerns working for Alliance InfoSystems. As we continue to grow, we strive to recognize any areas for improvement and how to make the environment better for our employees. Being a small company, there are some challenges that we face that larger companies often are able to provide very easily. However, I'm happy to say that some of the concerns you had addressed have been improved. For instance, while we are not currently matching on 401k - we have been able to provide profit sharing for our employees for 2016 and 2017. Our vacation time is tiered based on longevity with the company, and there are now 5 days of sick time to be used each year for employees. We also cover a portion of our employees deductibles with the health plan and provide FSA options to use as well. We've also worked to create a better training environment for our technicians, as well as incentives for continued education and certification. Our Director of Technical Services has focused heavily on ensuring that new hires go through extended training sessions as well as shadowing, in order to get more accustomed to how we operate and help our clients. We're sorry that you felt it was a hostile workplace, especially since we want it to be a fun, friendly and family-like environment. While we can get busy, we make sure to recognize those times and do what we can to help ease that for our employees. Just like technology, we're constantly evolving and adjusting, so we do take ideas and opinions of our employees seriously and want to make sure they feel heard - and see that we're doing what we can to make it better for everyone in whatever way we can.

Pros

Unfortunately, this section is lacking. You will be severely over worked, underpaid, and you may lose your sanity working here. I thought long and hard about a pro so I could at least seem like a non raging employee but I honestly cannot think of any. Seriously reconsider your application if you have applied. You have been warned!

Cons

Poor benefits Very poor management Treated very poorly On call all the time Last minute requests to travel with no clear and meaningful reason. Let people go way to easily and without reasoning. Your there one day and gone the next. I saw 3 people get let go in the very short time I was there. Being told that the lack of benefits and constraints they put on you is due to them being a smaller company is not true. Feeling tricked by the recruiting company, as they appear to tell you anything you want to hear to get you to join this company. Be very weary, I made the mistake and was foolish doing so.

We appreciate you taking time to provide your feedback. As a Managed Service Provider (MSP), our job to our clients is to be ready and available for any technical issues needed during business hours and sometimes after-hours. While we support and promote work-life balance, as well as a hybrid remote working environment, all candidates interviewed for Alliance are advised of after hour requirements. This is especially true for the service side staff. There will be instances where a technician may be requested to be onsite for a client as soon as possible due to critical situations. Generally, the majority of our onsite appointments are scheduled days in advance. To continue to foster Alliance’s commitment to work life balance we maintain a rotating on-call schedule for our technicians that is shared months in advance and is always open for adjustments for personal reasons, vacations, etc. We are very team-oriented, and we strive to create an exciting, challenging and rewarding work environment for our employees to flourish. As with any organization, performance that is not meeting expectations is addressed in hopes for a positive outcome. However, there may be scenarios when difficult decisions are made. Alliance maintains and respects employees’ confidentiality. Reasons for employee departures are not shared unless authorized by the employee. Alliance shows that almost 70% of our employees have been here for over a year and we have tripled in size in the last 3 years. The feedback we’ve received from our most recent hires at their 90-day reviews have been positive. Benefits – Alliance has made every effort to be competitive in this area given its size and current market conditions. We are very proud of our continued commitment to manage the cost of these premiums for our employees. This is discussed during the hiring process. Alliance continues to grow its team while also continuing to provide opportunities to our talented team members. We are excited that in the last 6 months we have been able to promote engineers, technicians to either Team Leads or Manager positions. Again, we appreciate your feedback. We wish you the best of luck with your future endeavors.
