1. High turnover rate. Within a year of being employed at Allied Wallet, 4 senior department members and one entry level employee left from the finance/accounting department, as well as 2 senior members from the IT/development department. Qualified and skilled experts in the business accounting and finance field did not want to stay at the company and most lasted less than 6 months before moving to a different firm/quitting.
2. Family controls HR, Finance/Accounting, Operations, Risk, Compliance and Executive positions. The only department that doesn't have a family member running it is legal and IT tech/development department.
3. Lack of organization or strong leadership. There are several departments, but there are no official protocols set on how to communicate with the other departments. It's utter chaos when you need to get projects completed and 80% of your time is repeating the same information and playing telephone games with other departments. The leadership is very weak and most don't care about follow up or integrity of data, and cares more about how to collect and fine greater fees to their customers. Sad.
4. Broken system and integration: data is broken, not connected, and not reliable.
5. Lack of business objectivity and professionalism due to conflicts of interest and leadership being mainly made up of family members.
6. No KPIs are taken.
7. No performance reviews are conducted.
8. No fair opportunities to rise in ranks within the company. You have better luck acquiring your skills internally and leaving elsewhere ASAP.
9. Toxic work environment. Frequent yelling going around, starting with the CEO Andy.
10. Management plays the blame game and turns other employees and departments against each other.
11. Shows strong favoritism and biases.
12. Stingy with internal costs and overspends on outside costs. Ex: Employees are criticized for drinking bottled waters available in the lounge.
13. High frequency of lawsuit cases, subpoenas, and merchants complaints due to broken legacy system.
14. Unethical management practices, leaving many employees feeling uncomfortable with the timeliness, accuracy, and reliability of conducting business operations.
15. CEO Andy lacks understanding of his company's internal and operations related problems. He will rant about ideas not being shared around and wonders why everyone leaves in less than 6 months and why they constantly have to rehire and retrain
16. Management will not listen to you with sincerity unless you are their family member or family friend. You will have to repeat yourself multiple times before any action is seriously taken under consideration.
