Hello and thank you for providing your feedback. The process for requesting Jury Duty leave is through Human Resources, not through Team Leads or Managers, so I am sorry that you did not bring your concerns to Human Resources. We did a review of all our Jury Duty Leave Requests dating back to 2016 and we were unable to locate any instances of an employee being denied Jury Duty by HR, Management, or a client nor did we have record of anyone requesting jury duty leave on three separate occasions. As a company, Allyis fully supports and endorses community involvement and the fulfillment of a citizen’s civic duty. Since 2016, on average 16-20 employees receive a jury summons each year. Of those employees most are dismissed from serving by the courts and 5-6 per year serve and are able to use the two days of jury duty leave that are offered as benefit to all employees. We have found that the two days of leave provided covers nearly all leave needed by the employees. Since 2016, only three employees needed time off beyond the jury leave benefits offered. Please know that an employee will never be terminated for attending jury duty. Termination would only occur if an employee is struggling with their performance and is unable to improve with proper coaching or if a client requests directly to have an employee removed from the project. In addition, employees are always paid for all hours worked. If you have any questions or would like to meet with a member of HR or Management to discuss in more detail, please contact Human Resources hr@allyis.com or 425-691-3000.

Allyis is a sinking ship

Pros

Decent Benefits for a staffing firm (but they used to be better) Most of the contractors are friendly. The company before the sellout wasn't perfect, but it was still one of the better agencies to work for. Ping-Pong and Pool table in the break room. Office space is nice. Plenty of meeting rooms. A tenured employee base that you could be leveraging to improve your business. Alliys is (or, at least was) on several good AVLs. Free coffee and tea.

Cons

The new owners are terrible. Their business practices are overly aggressive, underhanded, and it doesn't matter if something is the right or wrong thing to do. If it will earn them an extra cent, they'll do it. I was there long enough after the buyout to see a fair amount of verbal abuse dealt out, all under the guise of 'managing people'. Assumptions by the new owners were made and acted on before investigating for accuracy, and unrealistic expectations were placed on people who couldn't live up to them. They talked about collaboration and being supportive of the systems and processes that had brought so much success to the company in previous days, but their actions painted a different picture. I personally experienced, and witnessed several other instances, of employees being yelled at in meetings, humiliated in front of their peers, and being berated loudly in public spaces. Awkward doesn't begin to describe it. I can't express how terrible the management is in this company. They're a Microsoft-shop, completely at the economic whim of Microsoft's ups and downs, leaving them struggling to diversify with the new 18 month service limitations on vendors. I can't see how this company will sustain itself at the turn of 2015/2016. Their current areas of depth are among the most saturated in the tech market, again leaving them open to losing entire teams wherever Microsoft decides to reorg. Career growth opportunities are difficult to come by. You have to be in the right place at the right time, and that's rare. As this year continues to be financially difficult for them, more and more of what makes Allis tolerable to work for will be whittled away at, until they are forced to function like a Volt or a Kforce.

Pros

Way to get your foot in the door in the engineering world, and get experience with Microsoft technologies. Surprisingly good healthcare.

Cons

They will super lowball you, even if you are competent. You can demand raises when you realize you're being taken advantage of, but by then the damage is done. Poor benefits other than healthcare.
