Pros

You can learn how change management looked like in 1980 and how it shouldn´t be done in 2020.

Cons

Not that anyone will get hired at Alpega anytime soon with them struggling to keep alive but for all those who do consider joining them - BE AWARE: - The CEO is the most delusional person I´ve seen in my life. While having no clue about the industry, market space and customers he is making decisions from home while not even showing face when laying off people or introducing big change initiatives. - Sales are struggling to sell anything, even if they offer it for free and customers are aware that Alpega is not able to deliver their promise. - Middle Management is full of people living in the 90s having no idea what a software as a service company and it shows. - The product has so much technical debt that it should´ve been canned 5 years ago, instead, they invested heavily to build features that the market wasn´t requesting while keeping low performers on the product side and even promoting them. - There were massive layoffs during the COVID-19 crisis and even before when the company made the "generous" offer to either relocate to Spain or be made redundant.

Pros

The company is always open to discussions and is willing to listen to you.

Cons

Things are not organised and Catalan corporate culture when it should be an international organisation. Apparently, they also did not understand why Belgians do not celebrate Dutch King's Day.

Pros

Above all - people, most colleagues were professionals with considerable working experience. Most people are polite and professional. There are several good products with well-balanced pricing that you can sell well if you are in a competitive region. Slowly things were getting better after the changes that took place over 2017-2019. There is a solid customer base that will keep the company afloat through many storms, it is not a startup that can suddenly go bankrupt or change the core business overnight.

Cons

The company is not lean. There are many obsolete inefficient internal processes that take forever to improve or replace. Learning the ropes can take 6-12 months and even after years at the company some legacy dependencies may remain unclear. Internal communication could be better - you won't notice changes unless you have an issue, then you would discover that a process was changed or someone was hired or fired. There is no career development plan, once you're hired you're stuck. Only by chance, due to unexpected openings, some people were able to advance.
