Pros

The office has a front door which allows you to gain easy access to and from the building and has great food near by.

Cons

Management are very volatile - If you go for a job ask them how many people they sack, quit or get offered a job and walked out after a few days. - Ask them since June 2010. Currently 11 and the company is aorund 40 people and getting smaller. The number will increase by end of 2010. Speak to current staff to get a fair picture from all departments if they are unhappy– Only get feedback from non senior management – this will allow you to make a balanced decision. There is NO HR in place, no travel insurance and most people will need to travel as part of the role. Little chance of promotion The inner circle management based on track record are very bad at staff motivation. Commissions can take more than a year to be paid and may not be paid in full and as the company has a high turnover guess who keeps all the money. If you do join and plan to leave do so only on pay day - That way you will ensure you are paid fully including all (or most bonuses).

Pros

Very talented editorial team that truly understands how governments work No doubt a brand name that is much loved by very senior government civil servants and IT companies

Cons

While the brand name is still strong, there are obvious signs that FutureGov is starting to lose some of that brand equity with both groups due to severe mismanagement. Poor leadership who does little or no business planning. Has the tendency to schedule events ad-hoc creating havoc across multiple functions within the company. Increasingly common for events to be withdrawn or shifted at the last minute. Staff morale is at all time low with resignations and terminations (some highly questionable cases) happening at shocking speeds. Too many stories of staff being short-changed - deductions of pay, missing commission payouts, unfair dismissals. No health and travel insurance. Long wait for commissions, sometimes up to almost 6 months - too many staff leave before they get the payout. Annual leave calculation is unheard of - entitlement is not pro rated back to when you join the company, but when you are confirmed. This means that at the start of your 5th month of employment (probation is for 4 months) you are entitled to zero annual leave. They start counting only from the time you are confirmed.
