Pros

Friendly Co-workers Generous benefits, PTO, Vacation

Cons

If you have to report to or frequently interact with the Owner/CEO, stay away at all costs. He is the owner of all companies within Caddis but needs to just be the owner and not the CEO. He tries to dip his hands into way too many things that he has no clue about. You are told you need to have him approve every single thing although he has no knowledge in a lot of it such as Marketing, Ecommerce, IT, etc... Pretty sure that is why you hire knowledgeable people to run those departments. He says he doesn't micro manage but in a way that's all he is doing with trying to be involved in everything. He never responds to any emails or phone calls. His direct words when you start working for him are, "If it can wait a week or so email me, if it needs attention that day, text him, if it is urgent call him." In the past 2 years of working for him, I don't think I received more than 5 email responses from him. My last 3-4 months working for him I texted him at least 4-5 times and never received a response from him, yet he texted me once about something that HE needed and he expects you to answer him right away. If you are too busy to respond to your employees, especially your direct reports, it shows either that you don't have enough respect for them, or that you should just be the owner of the company and hire a CEO to run the show. You made me feel extremely disrespected the last 6 months I was working for you by the way you handled many situations. He is a very hypocritical boss. There are too many examples of this that I could list but I will only list one. I had a medical emergency for a family member late one night that kept me in the emergency room until about 4:30am. I didn't get home and asleep until about 5am that morning. Instead of calling out sick that day (which I only did once out of the 2 years there) I woke up slightly late and hurried to the office. I arrived only about 15 ish minutes after I normally get to the office which as an adult and salaried employee is not very late by any means especially when everyone there gets to the office at different times. This happened to be one of the rare times he was actually at the office and saw me arrive later than I normally do. He marches right into my office and begins questioning me about why I am "so late" I explained to him what had happened the night/morning of and all he seemed to care about was that I wasn't in the office when he got there. Already dealing with stuff from that night, I was shocked at his response... He says I don't care if you have stuff just let me know. Jump forward to the next day. I have my monthly meeting with him over teams. I log onto the meeting at the scheduled time with my presentation that I prepared for him. He doesn't join for 5-10 minutes which is typical of him. I am sitting there for 45 MINUTES without hearing from him or his assistant. Finally I text both about the meeting and I only hear from his assistant that he is not going to be on the meeting. The fact that he makes such a big deal about something pretty minor the day before and then turns around and does this is just a testament to how he operates and treats people. The Owner/CEO makes his business decisions based on emotion and not what is best for the company and who it will ultimately screw over. He also makes promises he cannot and will not keep just to keep you at the job. During my time there, I rarely saw him make a decision based off what would be best for the company. I won’t get into all of the problems, but when it came to my department, he took away two of the biggest factors and lead generators that lead to my departments abilities to make sales. Oh he also took these resources away without even telling me he was going to. The first one was because his family member who works for him complained about his company potentially losing sales and the other was from his other employee who complained that his sales were going to hurt (which neither of them would have) He immediately made the decision to cut of my lead generators and resources and give them to his "family member" and his other employee. I didn't find out he took those away until I saw my sales drop significantly and when I asked about it, he wasn't even the one to tell me, I had to find out from a 3rd party marketing agency we were using at the time. When I brought it up to him in a meeting that was surprisingly not cancelled, he admitted he "pulled the rug out from under me" and that things will get better. He then promises that my department will expand the work that needs to be done in the next couple of months that will ultimately give the department more orders and eventually some commissions. That was back in April of 2022. I was gone in Feb. of 2023 and still none of those promises were fulfilled. With him sabotaging my department and sales, for the year, I understood why my position was let go. No doubt about it. I tried to save the sales in any way possible but the uphill battle was already too steep because of his terrible business decisions. For the last 3 months of employment, he cancelled 3-6 meetings, didn't respond to any emails or texts. He made me and previous employees I've spoken to feel extremely isolated and worthless. On the day I was let go, he couldn't even be the one to do it himself. He sent one of the HR members to do it for him but made sure to have the HR member mention that he wishes he could be there for it, yet a few days prior I found out he was on one of his many vacations. Yet when I was taking more than 3 days off during the Christmas holiday, he questions me and says, "you have that pto?" I rarely took much PTO other than a day off every once in a while. As someone's boss, you should know know that your employees do have time off as well and don't try to make them feel guilty or scared to ask for time off. To me again this shows the his character, since he knowingly screwed over my department over the past 6-8 months and couldn't even be the one to let me go himself, especially with me being a direct report to him. He will make you feel isolated and worthless and he says he cares but his actions and words all point to the contrary. Overall, the people at the company are friendly and benefits they offer are good. If you have to work directly for the Owner and CEO, be advised, this is how he treats his employees.

Alpine Home Medical Response

Pete, As the CEO, I wanted to take a minute to respond to your review. We are always looking for opportunities to improve, and your review gave me an opportunity to reflect on that. You bring up some valid points about me being stretched thin. I have a lot of direct reports and am now hoping to take some of those off my plate so I can be more attentive to each employee in the way they deserve. We are also working to implement some delegation tools in each department to help decisions be made more quickly. Additionally, we’ve had many kaizens over the years and have recently implemented leadership training, to which you were invited to help you and others grow and develop as employees. Perhaps if you had invested as much time and energy into your performance as you put into this review, we would have had a chance to see your growth and development. I appreciate the review and the food for thought. Sincerely, Jay Broadbent

Pros

Consistent schedule, clean office environment, a few friendly people

Cons

*They told me in the interview that I can't discuss pay. they start some employees at $15 an hour and some at $16 or $17. It feels super shady considering we are all in entry level positions doing the same exact work. *the leads on the teams are incompetent and immature. they care more about pretending to work and 'playing the game' than actually doing what's best for their team. they waste time in 'meetings' most days, which really means them gossiping in the conference room, wasting time. *the expectations for the job are blatantly contradictory. in the same breath, they ask you to take time with each patient on the phone and also take as many calls as you can. it's simply impossible to both. They don't care. They care about making themselves look good to the upper management. *Company follows Mormon standards for dress code. Must cover all tattoos. Men can't have a beard, for crying out loud. it was basically taken right from Mormon doctrine on dress. Totally inappropriate and unnecessary. *You will get shamed and questioned for taking time off. if you don't make your 40 hours in the week, they will push you to make it up in any way possible. *on a company level, everyone is always fighting. like a previous review said, I spend more time fighting with people WITHIN MY OWN COMPANY, rather than patients themselves. it's very infuriating and ridiculous.
