- Culture can also very two-faced and fake nice. You'll only find out when either you get backstabbed or you watch some sorry sod get the brunt.
- Professional development was a big selling point of the company on the way in but it was dragged along and not taken remotely seriously. It wouldn't have been as much of an issue if it wasn't then flipped over and stunt your path to a promotion in an effort to move goalposts.
(example: Never have I ever been provided a Development Plan after nearly a year of pushback in the form of a brand new method of measuring performance that the Manager is not trained in and essentially tasks with you writing the review yourself!)
- Competency was hard to find and if you do, you find them overloaded as they're busy carrying the team.
- Management has preferential treatment but in the strangest way of prioritising long-standing employees with questionable work ethic but holding a microscope and pushing back on staff playing by the rules.
- Working with other teams was also a headache. People with decent tenures and on-paper good experience, really embracing the phrase "I don't know", however, suddenly when it goes sideways due to lack of knowledge and information provided the same teams become experts within minutes!
- Performance optics are not merit based in the slightest.
