Nepotism, toxicity, lack of direction, ineffective and unqualified management, favoritism, daily dumpster fires, Not all jobs are created equal. Keep in mind that a paycheck isn’t all that should be considered. Culture, work/life balance, development and leadership are huge factors in not only your success but also happiness and longevity. The majority of employees are completely overworked and doing the job of 3 or more people. They will not, or do not see the importance of hiring additional staff to support these people in order to meet deadlines and it has been this way for a very long time. They have a trend of firing people at the drop of a hat. Most employees are very worried about their jobs. Mistakes are not tolerated and follow up coaching is zero. Make a mistake and you’re thrown under the bus. Deadlines are routinely missed which affects clients. Clients are starting to see behind the curtain.
Mentoring and training is non existent. Take my advice and stay away. Don’t go into something for a great salary and find out down the road you made a mistake. You’ll be jumping from the frying pan into the fire. All under the guise of being a start up and building processes and procedures. Which means they don’t have any established. I have seen 6 people be fired within less than a year. No verbal, no written. Just gone. Undeservingly. So much pettiness. No positive reinforcement from management. Just “do it and don’t ask questions”. Because they won’t or can’t be answered. Zero guidance. You’ll be brushed off but can’t go to any tenured employees to get those questions answered.
