Pros

-Interest in engaging people in company activities -Opportunities to grow as a consultant or manager -Many different people from diverse countries

Cons

-Payment is within market expectations but often not satisfactory -Payment is not highly focused on base salary due to Portugal market taxation. This focus on employees receiving more but at the expanse of future assurances of stability -Has some degree of risk due to the fact that key clients are a big slice of their cake of customers and a significant bulk of their consultants. -Managers, team leads, and team managers are often overwhelmed which gives little to no space to more personalized management

Pros

Amaris is an international consulting firm but their offices work separately, so to work in Bogota's office felt like working in a mid-sized startup! Great working environment! Very fun to work in, there are a lot of nice people, from different backgrounds always willing to lend you a hand whenever you need to. Many growth opportunities! We mainly used AWS and React, but work teams have a lot of freedom to choose or change that.

Cons

Within the company, we had many coworkers quitting without someone with enough seniority to fill in, they tried to hire new people but very often those had little experience. We had no problem with that but that happened very often, It made me felt like something wrong was going on, like management didn't care about the team stability and I found myself with no-one to talk with about technical troubles. It was very hard to talk about salaries, I tried to reach my manager a few times asking for a raise, and it just didn't work. When leaving the company they said I should have tried to talk about that topic more times. I felt my salary was low compared to my coworkers, even though I was performing equally since I started working there. Sometimes we felt the company just left us alone while working for our customers, as consultors that's normal but within our team, we had to deal internally with unskilled coworkers, tech leads without actual leadership experience, applying scrum framework incorrectly, many deadlines, and low-quality work output.
