Don't believe the hype

Pros

If you were in the right clicks, then it was a very fun frat-like culture.

Cons

Inexperienced leadership showed their true colors when faced with the slightest bit of market resistance. The product they offer is a nice to have and will never be a need to have. They were conceived, born, and raised, in a bull market, so at the hint of a recession, they began to fold. It will be very difficult for an underfunded startup like Ambition to survive with more dollars leaving than being brought in. It's unfortunate for a company that once had promise. Management does a good job of hiding their micro-managing ways behind a frat like culture. It is a very cult-like atmosphere at Ambition, and you need to step outside of it to realize the toxicity of the company.

Company is dying a slow, painful death

Pros

Very casual atmosphere. If you're friends with the core founding group, you're set.

Cons

-They've had 3 rounds of layoffs in 10 months, including letting go most of the Product team. -They've hired and retained inexperienced VPs (some of whom were personal friends or friends from college) while letting go seasoned executives who would've made a difference in the company's direction had their recommendations been respected. -A newly hired CFO quit after less than year, which tells you something about the future of the company. -Culture is very cliquey. They talk about the inclusive culture a lot, but it only applies if you're based in Nashville and go out for drinks a lot, spend weekends together, and generally make the company your social life.

Pros

One of the most flexible, fun, and amazing jobs I have ever had. It's extremely clear how much you matter to not only the company as a whole, but the CEO (which is rare in my experience). Ambition invests heavily in their people through in-person work trips, training, and rewarding people who work hard. There are constant incentives for SDRs to learn more and perform better, without the added stress of micromanaging or pressure to perform 10000% at all times. When you work here, you actually WANT to work hard. I honestly don't know how I'd ever want to leave Ambition. They make it pretty difficult to leave because they actually treat their people right and make it possible to move into other roles/departments that interest you. Overall, Ambition is the place to be and I wouldn't go anywhere else even if I had the opportunity.

Cons

Honestly, it's difficult to find any. If you struggle with remote work life, maybe you could find that a "con." However, with how much you interact with every team on Zoom and Slack (marketing, CS, etc) as well as in-person events, any downsides of remote life disappear.
