Pros

-Meaningful work supporting vulnerable adults. -Valuable hands on experience in behavioral support, crisis intervention, documentation, and medication assistance. -Some strong frontline staff who genuinely care about client wellbeing. -High-acuity sites provide opportunities to build real-world caregiving and de-escalation skills quickly. -Good experience for individuals interested in developmental disability or behavioral health fields.

Cons

-High turnover among both direct-care staff and office leadership created ongoing instability. -Chronic understaffing often placed excessive pressure on long-term employees and difficult sites. -Training consistency and accountability varied significantly between staff and locations. -Communication between frontline staff and management could be inconsistent, especially regarding compliance and operational expectations. -High-stress environment with frequent burnout and retention challenges.

Pros

Good hrs good clients good schedule

Cons

I decided to leave because the work environment became unfair and uncomfortable. Scheduling and hrs were not handled fairly, and I was removed from shifts multiple times without proper communication while other employees continued getting extra hrs. After a while, it started feeling personal and targeted. The new manager created an uncomfortable environment where it seemed like employees who were more personal or flirtatious with management were treated better and received more hrs, while others were pushed aside. That kind of behavior is inappropriate and unprofessional. The PC also acted like she controlled everything by giving extra hrs to employees she personally liked while cutting others unfairly. The favoritism was obvious, and some of the treatment came across as disrespectful and discriminatory. I always came to work and did my job professionally, but I no longer felt respected or treated fairly. That is why I chose to leave.
