The worst company to work for.

Pros

There’s only really two pros. If you work hard you can expect to move up and get management experience. Second, you can potentially make lots of money at times.

Cons

Upper management sucks. Company policy to keep heat at 55 during winter. But if the store has overhead doors they’ll be open all day long everyday. So if you work in states that see snow on a regular basis, dress for the outdoors even though you’re technically inside. They also will demote managers if your store doesn’t see an increase from the year before. So if you did better a couple years in a row and all of a sudden your store didn’t see a gain, you no longer have a job as manager. A company that only sells furniture can only make an increase so long while trying to sell the SAME stuff. You have no life either. You gotta work 6 days a week open to close. I was working 60-80 hours a week.

Not For College Students

Pros

Paid training, good discount, opportunities to excel if this is your first priority. Decent Sunday hours, allow time for church if need be.

Cons

Hours not accommodating to college students or people with other jobs. Only 5% commission w/o hourly equals out to less than minimum wage if you can't work all of the time because of other commitments.

Pros

Pay is good my for position, no micromanagement from corporate.

Cons

Although corporate doesn’t micromanage things which is good the flip side is there is almost no communication from regional managers or corporate. The little information you get is either irrelevant to the situation or clearly comes from someone that knows nothing about what goes on in the stores. Warehouse is blamed for all problems and the salesmen screw everything up and nobody says anything it falls on the warehouse to pick up the pieces. They claim they don’t want you to do your job by yourself such as unload trucks but you’re always alone with no help and they blow you up with shipments that you can’t find in the computer system. You never really know what will show up and when and because you’re alone you just survive put things in the back and hope you have time to sort it all out in the proper locations, but that never happens. Stay very very far away from this place you’ll never see your family and will always be so worn out. If this company is still around a year from now I’ll be shocked
