Pros

Family friendly atmosphere at least for the most part. Owner is very involved and host many work related picnics, games and other great activities that set a friendly environment. No micromanaging which creates a stress free position. Benefits are not as promised but average.

Cons

Selling at most average products at excessive premium prices. Competition in this market is flooded with cheaper products frequently with the same quality products or better. Lead generation is typically from drawings which customers are having you come out entirely based on winning with little interest in paying for product. Same day closes are required without excuse using hard close tactics. Strictly commission with a draw that undoubtedly will put you in the hole for weeks especially in slow periods. Training is entirely focused on process and not product or paperwork which inevitably leads you to losing commission and angry customers. You drive about 50,000 miles a year on a $200 a month gas allowance. You MUST have money saved or you will not last a month. The risk/ reward is just not there and they will get rid of you without question if you have a bad month.

Pros

They are truly a team. Each department understands the value of the others and actively strives to help each department win. They support and encourage each other. If you can sell, there is money to be made. Commission and bonus structure is outstanding.

Cons

Lead sources can be interrupted by the economy or personnel changes.

Pros

Everyone is very personable and welcoming. They invite you in as one of the family. Pay sub contractor's twice a week. If they are able to help you, they will.

Cons

Responsibilities, you will never get paid for. They pay what they want. Very little training on product and none on paper work. Claim to keep you busy, but they won't. Outdated pay rates. It's very hard for a new hire to make it past the product learning-curve. You'll have to be able to neutralize many angry customers as they have been waiting for they're product for months. 45 mile range before they pay mileage. Tiny messy warehouse where, it's very hard to find the product, your responsible for. You will warranty a questionable product. You will be drawn in for more money then you can actually make. Sells and advertising is their primary concern. If you have a large savings and can wait a year or more to start turning a profit, you will probably do fairly well with them.
