American Medical Alert was purchased by Tunstall Healthcare in 2011. In the US, they are STILL legally AMAC, but promoting themselves as Tunstall Americas. This is incredibly confusing to customers and employees.
Leadership is out of touch with reality and has no idea what is going on. Communication between leadership and employees, and even internally between departments is non-existent... everybody works in a silo, does whatever they need to do in order to get by. It seemed like there were memos at least every other month for executives getting new titles, but everyone else was always in hiring and wage freezes.
The finance department is an extremely hostile environment.
There is opportunity for advancement if you are willing to relocate and fight for a fair wage (GET IT IN WRITING), otherwise there's very limited opportunity for meaningful raises or promotion based on performance, merit, and growth within a position or department. Employees are encouraged to share ideas and speak up if you see a problem or have an idea on how to make things better, but I wouldn't suggest it if you want to keep your job.
The new CEO that started in 2017 had great ideas, but never any support or direction to employees on how to implement any of them other than "this has to get done or else". He seems completely out of touch for the needs of clients and service providers in the connected care and PERS industry.
