Pros

Completely changed company. Lots of brand new people in many departments. Lots of very smart people were hired over the last year and a half as the company has gone through a serious change in management. Most are from other very well-known midstream companies and things are looking bright. Great teamwork and has been a great learning experience so-far.

Cons

The recent bad publicity from the SouthCross deal as well many bad reviews from anonymous employees past/present really muddy the waters in terms of what most people in the Oil Industry think of this company from a glance. But it really has infused all new talent in all departments and should start to shine through over the next couple of years.

My Experience at AMID has been very positive!

Pros

I ignored the negative reviews and applied to AMID last year and I'm very glad I did. I realize and am guilty myself of leaving reviews only when I have had a bad experience. I decided that some of these reviews are not fair and I want to give you my experience working at AMID. It had been a long time since I had to search for work and found the interview/hiring process to be a pleasant one and handled with the utmost professionalism. The company is growing, healthy and there are plenty of opportunities for new employees. The benefits are top notch, the pay very competitive, hours good and flexible, regular reviews and bonuses. I believe that your experience working anywhere is what you make it and I am very thankful I received an offer for employment. This is a very fast moving, busy place. If you just want a paycheck for coming in and pushing some papers around all day, don't bother to apply. If you are not a team player, don't waste your time because this is a team environment. If you like to sit around and complain about how other employees and departments do their jobs instead of bothering to learn how they all fit together, please don't come here. If you don't appreciate working for a healthy company with plenty of opportunities for advancement and growth, stay away. If you plan on bad mouthing management, instead of walking into their doors and offering healthy criticism, then go someplace else. It appears to me that their doors are always open and they welcome a chance to do better. As I mentioned earlier, AMID is a rapidly growing company with some healthy growing pains, but I would rather work in that environment any day than someplace struggling to pay their bills who really don't care about their employees. This talk in some reviews about the company not caring about their employees is not what I observe. Perhaps those reviewers have little work experience and haven't worked for very many companies. I enjoy coming to work. I am happy to have a good job to go to everyday. I like my co-workers. I am excited about the opportunities at AMID. I enjoy working in this industry and appreciate the opportunity to work for a growing, healthy company with some very experienced talent.

Cons

The Houston office is crowded right now, but there are plans to expand to a new floor. We do need more interaction between departments and team building although I've heard they are working on this - they just need to get something scheduled.
