Pros

Good policies and service, but not the cheapest.

Cons

Cold calling and going door to door. More importantly, when you leave, you are on the hook for any cancelled policies. In fact, you can be on the hook for even more if any policies cancel after you leave. My strong advice is do not do it. There are insurance companies that are just as good with their policies, less expensive and vest the agent in significantly fewer years. More importantly, if you decide to leave, ynot only will you have spent a bunch of your savings, but they will hit you up for cancelled policies. I reiterate: Do not join as a rep.

Pros

There are no pros to working here. It may be miles away from you home, you work long hours with no rewards and the closest place to purchase snacks or coffee is a gas station.

Cons

The manager is a chronic liar. He is more controlling then the manager of a company that pays an hourly wage. He is unsympathetic to agents need to make money and takes no blame for agents failure.

Pros

Flexible Schedule, free generic marketing materials.

Cons

Commission only. The leads given are at least 1 year old and are cold. The company is currently in a state of transition. Thier best selling product, Health Insurance, has been discontinued and replaced with a bottom barrel insurer. The commissions went from 14% for health, to a meager 5%. All this was done with less than 1 week notice to all agents. District managers are senile and as clueless as they come. The training for new agents consisted of a mail order pamphlet. Fixed annuities sales only, so no chance for sponsorship for the Series 6/63.
