Pros

Autonomy, slightly subsidized marketing (boss pays for postage if you write hundreds of letters each week), flexible hours, good splits (if you can obtain business, no one knows the brand name in sales world)

Cons

Boss has no clue whats going on and is just a voice on the phone. Agents will receive long ranting emails daily that make no sense, are extremely repetitive and do not seem like they are coming from a real estate professional. Company policies and systems change weekly. Agents must pay $100 to the person who simply answers phone for inbound lead. Predominately a middle man rental company and has very little sales presence. Company email thread is beyond ridiculous in terms of common sense and level of real estate knowledge.

The Boss has no clue what's going on in the team

Pros

No joining fee, desk fee

Cons

The Boss has no clue what is going on. They bring in people and suggest they have a strict 10 days training and in parallel start giving them leads and the trainees are torn between keeping up with the Training or the leads. And most leads are dead leads but he'd expect you to make money right away.

Pros

Working as a brand new agent, I was able to connect with sale leads right off the bat in all five boroughs. Working with the president of the brokerage, Dan, has been such a smooth transition into real estate. His mentorship is top notch, and the ability to be an independent worker while having him a phone call away provides a phenomenal edge. The office is beautiful, and the potential to succeed is great. Leads are provided, and give you the opportunity to have connections in all areas of New York City. If you put in the work, you will be greatly rewarded.

Cons

This requires you to have a lot of discipline as an independent realtor. Not necessarily a con, but definitely something to note as there will be many things you need to find out on your own and source independently. Lead sources are great, but many do require much travel.
