Pros

great place to get experience . but that's it

Cons

low pay unpaid overtime micromanaged president unresponsive to change this company is micromanaged to an extreme. no one can make a decision without the president approval and the higher management lacks basic scientific knowledge. it is expected to travel and be on site the next morning ( even if you arrived back in town at 2 am. that's just the job, in their opinion). company is reluctant to give people time off mandated by government. (i.e. employees have to insist to get time off to go vote. which is law. and the company takes advantage of people who don't know the law. ) high turnover of staff means constant retraining is necessary.

Pros

Coworkers are pleasant enough, but considering there is a constant revolving door, this cannot be said with certainty. Sometimes you get hilarious emails about missing cafeteria forks from upper management and the president.

Cons

The company is micromanaged, but not competently. Managers have no real power to bring about any change. Salespeople seem incredibly miserable and undeniably stressed out. If they travel/work on the weekends, they are not compensated for this. KPIs and compensation are changed without effective prior notice and can be retroactive. This is especially important because you expect a certain salary and are sorely disappointed when out of left field, "policies" are changed. Motivation is bleak and sometimes big customer accounts are turned into house accounts so that the salesperson who brought them in no longer gets compensation. In general, employees are expected to make up any time missed for appointments and such, but also expected to work past the regular work day otherwise they are sorely criticized as not being team players. This gets reflected in employee evaluations. Product support, especially for instruments, is practically non-existent so customers are left unhappy and relationships are damaged. Employees are also not considered team players if they take time off for government sanctioned time-off (e.g. paternity leave, leave for injuries that occurred `while working). They can't force you not to, but it becomes a toxic environment if you choose to take time off. There is very little room to move up in the company.
