It does not feel like a plantation since you are with family.

Pros

All the negative reviews are people who had their stock options revoked on the company sale or long timers who made $1 on the stock price since 2012. Do not listen to them since new comers will not get much stock. Our CEO is the one of the most brilliant minds in the valley, it only took him 7 years to realize you can charge money for a service. You will learn from a financial genius on par with Warren Buffett or El Chapo. This is not a Russian company. There are white people from all over the former soviet republics. Anchorfree is a diverse company with white people from Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Yugoslavia, Belarus, Moldova, and the good old USA. All the important decisions are made by management in english, which you will not be a part of anyways, so why pick on the soviets who are just here for a better life? All the free food and healthcare offset the below market wages. Just be glad you are not on visa like the FSU people. Those are on the ones that are screwed. Anchorfree has an inverted pyramid where 4 managers pretend to manage the one person who actually knows what they are doing. All the talented people leave after a year. Because of this there is plenty of opportunities for career growth.

Cons

We only get the US holiday's off. We should get Orthodox Christmas, Single's Day, and Defense of the Fatherland off too.

Pros

Food, lots of food, beer Ping pong and foosball Like others pointed this place is pretty laid back

Cons

This place breeds politics; the upper management is very manipulative and keeps changing the course of direction. The worst part of being here is that you cannot find who is trustworthy. Everyone has their agenda in mind and they agree to whatever the upper managmenet says. They talk about data and how to use it, nevertheless they use data to justify their decisions and not otherwise -- if data says the opposite or a different approach they discard it. This place is not collaborative and professional. I so regret for having worked here...

Thanks for your feedback! I think AnchorFree has greatly improved on having a clear strategy and making sure all teams understand it and are part of building it. Collaboration is now a strength of the company, so happily feel major progress was made since your review.

Thank you for your feedback. I always feel badly to see such reviews. AnchorFree has a tremendously diverse team from over 20 different countries (which is a lot for a currently 100 person company). I feel partly this is resentment from being removed from the team and I will use this to push harder on making that a more pleasant (as much as possible) process when the need arises.
