Pros

Join in order to obtain a Job Title that is beyond your current ability level at present (E.G if you are an Area manager presently you will be a Regional Manager here - Financial Controller, you can be Head of Finance etc.). Spend 2 years maximum with this Company and use your Job Title as a platform to obtain a similar role elsewhere with a Company that you can build a career with.

Cons

• Pay - poor • Development - Non-existent • Trust - None! • Opportunities - entirely dependent upon your 'brown-nosing' skills rather than any talent you possess • Future prospects for the Company/Brand - Extremely grim! • CEO - Absent (one day pw at best!) • COO - Shameless self protecting individual who will stand on anybodys head to protect his position. Masked by a very thin veneer that he is acting in the Company's best interests rather than his own, which the CEO could easily spot if she actually turned up a bit more! • MD - A nicer person it would be difficult to meet but would struggle to get beyond a Senior Management role in a 'proper' Company. Pitifully short of external experience and incapable of Managing the Company's Directors (a prerequisite of the role) or frankly any true Leadership skills and it pains me to say this as she is one of the sweetest people I have met.

Pros

Pros? Ha! You've got to be kidding me... there are absolutely NONE!

Cons

Well, how do I put this... Ann Summers is seriously the worst place I have ever worked. For a brand that wants to be seen as "premium" and is self proclaimed as an "iconic empire", the head office is absolutely disgusting, vile and filthy! How did they ever pass health and safety regulations? It's actually a disgrace and needs major renovation, ASAP! The turnover is crazy high because the higher ups have no idea on what they are doing with the brand and are stuck in their old ways. They can't understand that what worked for them 10 years ago will not work now and it trickles down throughout the whole company. Management is the worst. They act all high and mighty and think because they have "Manager" in their title, they are better than you and can treat you in any way and get away with it... when in reality they have got to be some of the most incompetent people you'll ever come across. The lack of respect they have for employees here is absolutely astonishing, they are truly NOT qualified. How even did they get the role?! No wonder all the good and hard working employees leave! There is no work structure nor is there any team structure. No working briefs are ever provided, deadlines for work are never met on time, very disorganised and management think they can dump work on you without explanation and expect you to get it done. It is highly stressful to complete work because people keep interfering and changing their mind every two seconds! This can and will mess with your mental health! They don't and will never care for the well-being of their employees. It's truly a toxic place to work. Diversity? Won't find it here! The racial undertones and microaggressions that spew throughout this company are vile. Misogyny runs deep here. Isn't it ironic how they are always talking about "female empowerment", but have some of the most misogynistic men working there? Luckily, I've moved on from this mess of a company. Please do not listen to the positive reviews on Glassdoor and avoid working here at all costs. Trust me, I'm doing you a favour!

Pros

Staff discount Pension scheme Bonus to Target - when is sensible not a stupid % increase. People - some talented great staff ( your long standing managers are amazing so maybe see how they are feeling once in a while) Pay if your management is actually quite good if your external coming into the business. Nice product , fun atmosphere in stores , literally people make this company staff on the ground are great they just need training and support.

Cons

Where do you start.....the feedback from anyone is always negative and I find it funny that suddenly on here they are all these positive reviews which they have clearly asked people to write because the truth is so bad and people always write how awful they are. I am not going to list everything that is wrong here but simply give you my honest feeling about how things really are. I worked in the London Region. And worked really hard even though hard work here fails to get noticed. You can run yourself into the ground and you won't get any thanks. London as a region isn't being run well and there are a lot of unhappy people. A lot of bad decisions have been made in this region and people have been promoted & put in roles they shouldn't have been and good decent people have been pushed out because they have been honest about how they feel about how things are. The minute you say anything about the way london is run and the behaviour you see from certain people you might as well leave. Literally all of us who have complained have ended up going. They don't listen at all falls on deaf ears is just swept under the carpet like nothing has been said & life goes on and they carry on doing the same things. This isn't a company that cares about you when you work here. So just don't put yourself through the stress and upset of working here it really isn't worth it. They do the same things get the same result the best thing you can do you for London is get a new senior management team who don't stand outside on store visits when they bother to turn up & talking about other managers and smoking all the time and get people who actually bring some value to your business!
