Understand your role as a mental health organisation to protect your staff
Pros
- great general well-being benefits including early finish on Fridays and a well-being afternoon off every month - genuine commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion at staff level with EDI networks, awareness days etc - passionate colleagues who care deeply about the cause
Cons
- culture of panic among senior team, outsourcing major decisions to costly and largely ineffective consultants who don’t understand the function (particularly in the context of the Communications restructure) - work can be slow and frustrating. Endless sign off processes, delays and last minute changes to messaging come at the expense of successful outcomes. - lack of meaningful mental health engagement with staff who are struggling with high workload or restructures. People are overworked, under appreciated and morale is low.
