Horrible Work Environment

Pros

If you work in Sales you can do whatever you want, if you work in any other department you'll want to run as fast as you can.

Cons

Terrible, backstabbing environment. They say all the right things in public, then go behind closed doors and do the exact opposite. No leadership from the top and zero coordination between departments. They have 3rd world systems and processes yet expect 1st world results and when that can't be delivered they get rid of you and repeat the same thing again with the next poor soul.

No Longer a Great Place to Work

Pros

If you like working for big companies that don't value or listen to their employees then this is the place for you.

Cons

I don't even understand why there is an Annie's review since there is no Annie's, there's just General Mills. They will try to tell you that they are different, that they are leading a change within the rest of General Mills but that's all talk. You don't have to take my word as its simple to prove. If you're interviewing there just ask who leads your function and their background and you'll see that all of them came from General Mills whether you're in Finance, Sales, Marketing, or Operations it doesn't matter. Mills got rid of all the Annie's Leaders long ago so it’s pretty hard to argue that you're different when the people in charge have worked at Mills for 20+ years and have no idea what Annie’s was like prior to being bought. This is just a pit stop on their Mills career before they go off to whatever is next so they have no desire to challenge the status quo, they are the status quo! Should just call this place General Mills West.

Decent culture, sub-par management.

Pros

Great products, name, & brand equity. The brand is loved and the growth in natural/organic will mean lot's of growth for Annie's in the future.

Cons

Management, especially in sales, is sub-par at best. It's a culture of fire drills, usually with the time and effort put into those exercises leading to nothing. Lot's of redundancies in what the sales team is asked to do, which leads to a tremendous amount of wasted effort and very little selling. Patchwork of systems is antiquated and only leads to increased frustrations. Amazing that growth of +20% year over year is achieved, which should be substantially more with better leadership.
