Pros

Lovely people, meaningful work, fantastic services for patients and families

Cons

Lack of developmental opportunities, terrible paternity leave offering, tokenistic EDI, training and personal development initiatives, people often take collective credit for your work

Pros

The organisation itself is top notch. Such a worthy cause - to help people with blood cancer and other health issues which can be cured with stem cells. Excellent facilities in terms of labs.

Cons

At my time of starting in 2018 the marketing department was very good. I had an amazing Design Manager and top partner in the Senior writer at the time. When these people left and the roles were not replaced by Senior management the marketing department started to lack substantially. Hopefully, now it's better but I think there were further redundancies. So I still think there may be a big struggle there or a lack of understanding for the importance and value of the work in design and copywriting in a charity organisation.
