Pros

Decent pay, kind employees/CEO, plenty of amenities and benefits available

Cons

The job itself is terrible. You are told it is not like other call center jobs. It is maybe slightly better. On paper you are a property consultant. In reality you work in a complaint department and exist primarily to help property management companies ignore their residents and fail at even the most basic duties in regards to meeting with prospective residents. When I was helping people find an apartment, it was a nice job. Most of my day though was spent taking call after call from people who are trying to reach their local leasing office. The calls end up getting routed to the call center because these local offices are owned by massive property management corporations, which besides from being some of the most parasitic and vile companies on planet earth, are also horrible at managing properties. This less the fault of Anyone Home, and more the fault of the way property ownership works in this country. The part Anyone Home plays in this though is they enable these property management companies to ignore and mistreat their residents through routing their calls to the "centralized leasing office" (a complete lie, as the agents mostly work from home and have no access to the properties). It's a logistical problem. You cannot own this many properties and effectively manage them without spending tons of money. So they hire Anyone Home to take the calls for them. I remember getting calls from people who had houses flooding, and I had absolutely no ability to assist them beyond empty platitudes, promises, and a never ending vicious loop of them attempting to reach their local leasing office, and inevitably reaching Anyone Home. There was no way to help these people reach their office besides giving them a phone number which they had already called, leading to them reaching Anyone Home again. It is a ridiculous system that simply enables these property management companies to be the disgusting leeches they are. You have to lack a conscience or be blissfully ignorant to be okay with this work. When somebody is calling you distraught because their entire life is falling apart due to mold, flooding, or any host of issues that result from the poor management of the properties, you are simply a sponge for their complaints and participate in enabling the scummy practices of these property management companies. I would not recommend working here unless you're a sociopath or too dumb to understand what is actually occurring beyond the smoke and mirrors.

Thank you for the time you took to leave your review. It seems however, that your review is more of your personal opinions on property management companies than your experience working at Anyone Home. We understand how difficult it can sometimes be to work in customer service, especially if a customer is growing increasingly anxious or frustrated. However your statement about Anyone Home not being able to access the on-site property information is not entirely accurate. While we may not be located on the physical property, our software enables us full access to the same pertinent information such as property, unit, and local area information in addition to call history and basic maintenance troubleshooting support where applicable. We can see from your perspective how it may seem like a property management company doesn't care about its residents or isn’t responding as quickly as they may like; however, we maintain very close relationships with our customers and can assure you that is not the case for the extreme vast majority. Property management is full of caring people who take pride in their job and helping others. That being said, even the very best operators can have a bad day or go through a rough period - we certainly aren’t perfect either! This position can be mentally exhausting at times and is not fit for everyone, however as you mentioned we do provide adequate compensation, benefits, amenities, and monthly bonus incentives to reward and thank our hardworking property consultants. We wish you the best of luck in your next career and thank you again for your feedback. - Megan Product Marketing Manager

Pros

Free lunch on certain days

Cons

Working at anyone home stresses me out most days! Having to sit down for 8 hours and take calls back to back with no in between time to simply breathe and look away from the screen was terrible on most days! They are usually understaffed on weekend days leaving a handful of people to pick up the slack with about 30 holding calls in the cue! They hire so many new people however this does not help those that are certified. When you are certified that means you are trained on all skills and you answer calls for all of the communities that Anyone Home partners with. Not to mention they have taken on hundreds and hundreds of more communities making it even harder on us. They have a handful of people that take calls for a property management company called EQR where they pretty much take a few calls throughout the day and work on emails, chats and other non phone related tasks! I usually see these people watching movies, playing on their phone etc while everyone else is stressing out trying to answer each call. Which sucks because they were also hired in to be property consultants as well however, several months ago Anyonehome decides to pick a few lucky employees to take calls for EQR Management. I mean literally it can be 50 calls waiting in the cue and all PC’s are stressing out while these EQR people are sitting back watching YouTube and all other nonsense! I feel so relieved that I no longer work here. Most people I comhe into contact with complain about the same things! If you want to be stressed out and miserable just about everyday then this may be the place for you. I would not recommend anyone to work here long term, make this a temporary place of work while you are seeking other employment opportunities.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Although it may seem like the grass is always greener on the other side, of the cubicle wall that is, all of our PC’s handle the same amount of monthly volume, regardless if they’re on a dedicated team such as EQR’s or not. At Anyone Home we believe in offering a fun and enjoyable work environment, which includes the opportunity to access the internet in between phone calls, emails, and chats. However, there are times as you also mentioned where we see a sudden spike in the call queue and there’s less free-time between calls. During these spikes all property consultants and team leads will quickly step in to help where they can. We’re very excited to grow as a company to continually exceed our clients’ needs and expectations. We appreciate the time you spent with us and wish you the best of luck on your future endeavors. - Megan Product Marketing Manager

Pros

- Amazing team - Flexible and great work/life balance - Fun, hard working and casual work environment - CEO is brilliant, independent, easy going and generous - Witnessed many hard working and good attitude employees who started at the bottom move up fairly quickly

Cons

- As a young company, must be flexible as policies, procedures and people often change - Staff is broken into two categories: salaried and hourly. Depending on what category you’re in will greatly determine your extra benefits (social events, lunches, time off, etc...)
