Pros

Really great co-workers! In midtown Sacramento.

Cons

Being an employee of this company is the biggest con of all. The COO is a self-righteous, misogynist, who favors certain employees. Management views their editors as ignorant and recyclable; they show no respect or gratitude for all of the mandatory overtime hours worked. Management (mostly the COO) neglects the intelligence of many of their workers. There seems to be a perception that if you're young, lively, and in an entry-level position, you're dumb. They do not focus on how we are trying to build community with one another, how we are accept the lower positions so we can get a foot in the door, how we are actually intelligent adults, with college degrees, working hard to have a life. Oh, and if the COO likes an employee, who after time, resigns, he has the office throw them a goodbye party; when I resigned, I got asked to leave early and then was walked out of the building like some criminal. I worked there for nearly three years. Hardly ever missing a day. Never had any disciplinary issues. Always early. Stayed late. I tried to encourage group outings. I devoted a lot of myself to this ungrateful company. I don't know how to express, more than I have, for job seekers to not seek employment here. Honestly, having no job is better than working here.

Pros

Decent pay. Paychecks always arrived on time. Out of pocket expenses always paid on time. Provides company vehicles. Lots of work. Hires inexperienced investigators and provides training.

Cons

Company has no respect for their employees personal lives. It's ALL about Apex! Employees are treated like robots.....just work and work and work and work. Even after you have worked 50 or 60+ hours in a week and driven over a thousand miles, they still want to keep working you. If you ask for time off, you are taken off the schedule for a week. If you complain too much about it.....your caseload will slowly start dwindling to the point that you have ZERO hours and forced find another job and resign. Company does not treat their Veterans with respect and does not honor those Veteran/military reserve employees who get reactivated and have to serve their country again. Zero room for ANY job advancement unless you are "personal" friends with a member of the executive staff.
