Pros

The kids , the Salary

Cons

The supervisor wand you receive will Weild no power. The bottom line is money so even if kids hit you unless you have several conduct reports amassed- they will NOT be expelled. So stay safe. The staff is always short , they will lie and say you will get more educators and then get cut an educator of a few kids are out for a week . No loyalty - they fired 4 people in one month . Simply for company reasons ( money ). You probably will not be here long. And you will have to buy your own snacks for the kids they give you about $35 a week budget for 200 snacks a week. Good luck .

Thank you for your comments. We are proud to offer a high-level of compensation to attract and retain top-talent in the education field that can provide an outstanding program. Staff and student safety is of utmost importance and we have discipline processes and procedures in place for both staff and students. We have high expectations for our staff and do not remove staff without cause or necessity. We strive to maintain accurate staff to students ratios and provide substitute staff when required. The addition of floating staff members this year is helping to alleviate staffing shortage due to call-outs or turnover. Lastly, we reimburse our staff for all approved out of pocket expenses for program snacks and supplies and budget according to enrollment.

Pros

The children were one of the main Pros when working at this company. They were a delight to be around and were one of the main reasons I stayed with the company for so long. Also, during my time with Apollo, there were great educators who just went above and beyond for the scholars and made our program feel like a family.

Cons

I have worked for this company for a few years so I have seen MANY people come and go. From experience I can say there is a lot of favoritism within the company. I have seen great educators who put in the work and really are there for the children get let go and the ones who are only in it for the money and barely lift a finger stay on. And since we are on the subject of money, the company expects its employees to pay for things out of pocket. I cannot express to you the frustration I had trying to make sure my scholars had snacks and supplies to do activities. I mean these parents pay for a service that barely met the bar. And don't even wait for your reimbursements. I still have yet to be reimbursed for a purchase I made in 2016. The office staff are very rude and always changing so you never know who you will get on the other end of the phone. And unless they need something from you, it is near impossible to reach them. This isn't only for employees, this goes for parents as well. I can't even count on my fingers how many times parents would come up to me frustrated that they can’t reach the office. And all this affects the children. But I don't think they take that into consideration or really care to state the least. So many times the children would go without snack if it weren’t for me pulling money out of my pocket. So many times the children would go without activities if it weren’t for my educators putting in their money and helping to purchase items. And we would do it again in a heartbeat because those were our babies. But the point is we shouldn’t have to. They have expanded their program from state to state, school to school while forgetting about the previous programs that they have. These children are just a number that adds money to Apollo’s pocket.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that you had a negative experience with our program. We do have high expectations for our employees as we strive to offer a quality program to the students. The mandatory training is paid after successful completion of 30 days of employment. We continue to look for additional ways to provide in-person training to staff through our Area Coordinators and online training and round-tables through our Training Coordinator.
